Ana

Ana Asti has dedicated her life to the development of fair trade in Brazil and the world. Motivated by the strong belief that it is possible to guarantee quality of life to all through egalitarian commercial relationships, Ana’s working principles condemn the practices of exploitation of human labour and of natural resources.

Ana graduated in Management in Rio de Janeiro from Faculty IBMEC - National Institute of Market and Capital. She holds a masters in Social Sciences from UFRRJ -Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro -, and an MBE in Third Sector and Social Responsibility from the Institute of Economy of UFRJ - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has worked since the year 2000 with fair trade.

In 2004, Ana founded Onda Solidaria, where she held the post of vice president. She developed educational projects in fair trade and worked to establish productive networks of fair trade in the market of fashion through the creation of a primary distributor of fashion in Brazil, Brazil Social Chic. As consultant to SEBRAE (o que e?) she has worked since 2006 with groups of small producers to develop fair trade projects.

The growth of demand for consultants in fair trade led Ana to found her own consultancy company, ‘Social Partnership’, which today is a services company located in the Genesis Institute of PUC-RJ. In the arena of social and political representatives of fair trade, Ana is a political advisor to FACES of Brazil, a Brazilian platform for fair trade and, on the international level, is Latin America director of the WFTO -World  Fair Trade Organization, with  headquarters in Culembord in Holland.
