How you can volunteer?
We have many exciting volunteering opportunities on the ground in Brazil. You can volunteer in several areas, be it in projects in Vila dos Sonhos, in the offices of Onda Solidária or in partner institutions in Rio de Janeiro and other communities.
Environment

Volunteer on site to develop a unique and sustainable village.

Become ecologically active in organic gardening, planting trees and caring for the Vila's animals, like our cute goats.
Community Life

Help build and renovate classrooms and other buildings in the village.

Help prepare delicious meals for other volunteers and participants.

Improve sanitation and maintain cleanliness standards in Vila dos Sonhos.

Motivate, accompany and support disadvantaged children and young people as mentors.

Teach English to the local population to strengthen cultural exchange.

It is not only on site that you can help. There are many opportunities for you to volunteer and get involved:

Virtually: Carry out social networking and communication activities.

As a speaker: Get involved in training a target group, volunteers and staff on any topic in your field.

As a corporate partner: Mobilize volunteering in your organisation and contribute to Onda Solidária's projects through donations.

Requirements
Age: 18+
Language skills: Fluent in English
(Optional: Beginner or intermediate level in Portuguese)
Time commitment: 3-6 months desirable; less possible

Weekly schedule
Your schedule for the week might look like this:

6 hours of work from 8am to 4am every day of the week

The evenings and weekends are free of work so that you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the connection with nature, or travel and experience activities such as:

Sightseeing tours in Rio de Janeiro (2 hours away)

Visiting Três Rios (30 minutes away)

Rafting

Kayaking
